DIRT

One thing I’d forgotten from my last trip on the Klondike Hwy is the dirt.  If you are the kind of person who is totally grossed out by a dirty car, this trip may not be for you.

As you can see from the pictures, we aren’t talking about a layer of dust, we’re talking handfuls of gravel and sand being heaped up on every spot that will hold it!

Just go to the car wash you say?  Not a chance.  There are no car washes along the Klondike, certainly no RV washes, and the campgrounds have strict rules against washing your vehicle.

When you aren’t part of a municipal water system, and you don’t have a well, you have to pay a guy to truck water to your campground cistern.  Ouch.  You hate to see those dollars used on what is really just vanity.

So we live with the dirt, make jokes about the dirt, and look forward to the day we’ll be able to hold that power washer wand in our hands and blast it all away!
